We’re creeping closer to the pairs from the SNKRS Holiday preview becoming a reality. As it was in the showcase’s preceding edition, the Nike Air Max Sunder will be a major point of emphasis, arriving in a two pack of weatherproofed Gore-Tex looks at the peak of gifting season. Following a retailer look at the all-black outfit, we’re getting a sneak peek at the accompanying “Hyper Crimson” colorway.

As promised, the heavy duty textile takes over the enveloping shroud, also delivering the titular fiery shade in the process. While adjacent hits of “Fire Red” and “Dark Smoke Grey” accompany the two foremost shades here, it’s largely a two tone arrangement, split the everlasting combo of red & black.

Though certain sects of Nike enthusiasts had been clamoring for a retro of the Sunder for years, Nike clearly has bigger plans for the 1999 silhouette than just appeasing Swoosh loyalists. By pinning the model as a centerpiece of their Holiday slate and releasing it exclusively through SNKRS so far (the Air Max Sunder “Metallic Silver” is next up), Beaverton is positioning the retro silo as a true hype offering. Executing sleek looks like this one is a good sign their bet will pay off.
