Andrew Rizzo ASICS and Berlin-based artist, beauty influencer, and model Kicki Yang Zhang are linking up for a collaborative GEL-NYC capsule, introducing another project on the same silhouette tackled by Hidden NY, Bodega, and Awake NY since its inception last year.
Known for her social media following and work with Burberry and Gucci, Zhang has two GEL-NYC colorways on tap for September 26th. Producing a balanced “Yin and Yang” essence of sorts, one pair comes coated in black while the other features a soft pink, white, and cream mix. Both shoes appear to feature the same materials, led chiefly by glossy patent leather and metallic silver accents. The lightly-colored pair, naturally, boasts far more intrigue to note. A pink patent leather mudguard transitions seamlessly into an all-pink midsole, where glittery GEL capsules evoke Zhang’s vast portfolio in the makeup and beauty space. A true multidisciplinary by nature, Zhang actually took part in the release campaign by modeling the shoes, jumping on a trampoline for eight hours in the process.
Both pairs are currently set to release on September 26th via ASICS, although price info hasn’t been made public at the time of this writing. See official images below and stay tuned for further updates.
