Here’s The Complete NIGO x Nike Collection Launching On September 28th

Update: The complete NIGO x Nike footwear and apparel collection has been revealed. Two colorways of the Air Force 3, will be dropping alongside a capsule of gear that includes varsity jackets, crewnecks, and t-shirts featuring the NIGO Swoosh logo. Easily one of the most unexpected headlines to play out this year is Nike x Nigo, teaming the former Bape head with the company he was constantly at odds with in the 2000s. Images of the actual collab shoe itself, the Nigo Air Force 3, have steadily rolled out through the year. At long last, a release is just around the corner.

Consistent with our first look and the last info drop, the 1988 silhouette appears in a playful, energetic mix of pastel & primary colors, each displayed in glossy, patent leather. Co-branded details like the Nigo Swoosh at the heel round out the design, with the box jamming in plenty of eye-catching detail like Kintsugi print and Kanji text.

Perhaps more notable in this simultaneous press drop is the visuals that the Human Made founder shared. Nigo himself is depicted in an animated short dripping with 1980s anime nostalgia, starred by characters & imagery heavily inspired by the likes of Akira, Super Sensei and Gundam. While super energetic and inspiring in its own right, the visuals speak to a point Nike hits on in their info, stating this Nigo collab is “rooted in a rich web of pop culture inspiration and reference.”

Importantly, the Swoosh promises that the Nigo Air Force 3 is only the first step in an expansive collab collection: “The debut Nike x NIGO collection is only the beginning of an iconic partnership decades in the making, and the Air Force III box hints at future footwear and apparel to come.”

The Nike Nigo Air Force 3 will first release via Nigo’s channels, dropping September 28th at humanmade.jp, he and Verdy’s Ostumo Plaza and at a Steven Victor-hosted pop-up in NYC. A wider launch via SNKRS and select retailers follows on October 4th. We’ll keep our “Where To Buy” section updated with further release info as it emerges.
