The Nike Kobe 6 Protro “All-Star” currently stands as a centerpiece of the Swoosh’s ASG offerings, expected to release in February 2025. The Kobe 6 persists as one of the most popular basketball shoes in the Nike catalog in general, but this pair’s main draw is the star pattern across the upper. Head below for a full breakdown of this pair as retailer and in-hand images begin to trickle in.

Breakdown Of The Sneaker
Simply put; these are pure class. The upper features a starry TPU base as opposed to the traditional snake-inspired texture, cleverly iterating on one of the model’s hallmark design cues. The five-pointed pattern begins towards the heel on the lateral side, bending and twisting those shapes as it works towards the forefoot before returning to the pebbled snakeskin pattern that defines most typical Kobe 6 releases. Save for a black Swoosh and soft pink lining, the entire shoe comes painted in “Sail” for an agreeable, versatile aesthetic.
Note that this starry arrangement was a major shake-up from what we initially expected from this shoe. Vanessa Bryant, wife of the late legend and now a shepherd of his legacy with the Swoosh, wore a tonal edition that lined up with early leaks and reports, sporting the same colorway without any of the additional patterns. It’s still unclear whether those were simply early samples or Bryant family PEs, but either way, the new twist is what sent this from a typical release to one of the most anticipated of Spring 2025.
This is the latest in a line of Kobe 6 “All-Star” colorways but far from the first. During the model’s original run in 2010-11, the Mamba minted not one but four colorways for with the showcase. Given the festivities took place in LA, he oded three of the looks to specific sections of the California metropolis, spread across “Orange County,” “Hollywood” and “East LA.” The most accessible of the bunch was the “Challenge Red,” returning to shelves in 2021 as one of the model’s first Protro releases.
Additional All-Star and Kobe Releases
The Kobe 6 “All-Star” joins the Jordan 1 85 Bred and Galaxy Foamposites in a stacked group of Nike, Inc. pairs queued up for the upcoming All-Star game. It also joins a crop of already confirmed Protro releases, alongside the Kobe 5 “Year Of The Mamba” in purple and red, and the Kobe 5 “Draft Day.”
A firm release date for the Kobe 6 “All-Star” has yet to be announced, but as mentioned, the shoes are expected to arrive on or around All-Star Weekend in February 2025. Expect to pay $190 if you’re set on securing a pair.
