Never underestimate K-Pop fans. Devotees of the genres are easily the strongest force in the “stan”-sphere, exemplified by their united front to support anything associated with their favorites. Sadly for those in Beaverton, two of BlackPink’s chief members have gone elsewhere; LISA on the adidas roster and ROSE with PUMA. That leaves Nike to explore more tacit methods, and perhaps lionizing the group’s fanbase is the goal Nike has in mind with its latest Air Max Plus release.
Even without any ties to the music world, this version of the Tn is noteworthy, adopting a far more vibrant, simplified profile than we typically expect from the silhouette. Case in point, the gradients that typically dominate it are gone entirely, replaced with matte arrangements of neon pink throughout the upper, foot entrance and the leather foxing. Delivering on our title, jet black accents are primarily centered on the sole and the TPU waves that define the Air Max Plus, thinning out as you move towards the toe-box to add some notable depth to this design.
Look for this Nike Air Max Plus in “Black/Pink” on Nike.com and local store shelves in the near future. Women’s sizing is expected, as is a $180 retail price.
