Rui Hachimura Has An Official Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Cranes” Collab Coming Soon

In the modern era, it feels fair to say that not many Jordan athletes can stand toe-to-toe with the colorways and PE looks crafted for Rui Hachimura. With many of the pairs he receives and/or plays a role in crafting, his Japanese heritage stands front and center, working in a myriad of traditional motifs onto the brand’s latest and greatest performance wear. However, as seen with his Air Jordan 8, increasingly the products bearing his name have entered the lifestyle space and the hands of the public. Now perhaps his most significant collaboration to date is coming to light, the Rui Hachimura Air Jordan 1 Low “Cranes.”

A relatively staid foundation begins this pair, with a base of neutral fabric and suede painting the upper. As you work your way up, however, things quickly become more eye-grabbing and intricate; a painted floral pattern drapes most of the topmost overlays, a gum sole crashes in underfoot, and a double-layer Swoosh executes a refined vision with a gilded outline surrounding the dense jet-black branding. Look inside for some personal flair that spotlights Rui in particular, with his logo stamped proudly on the insole.

The shoe is undoubtedly of a piece with the Tatum Jordan 1 and Zion Williamson Jordan 1, and with each spotlighting a different signed JB athlete, it’s hard not to draw a throughline. However, the story runs deeper, as many of those designs were handled by former Jordan Brand designer Kelsey Amy, who constructed the PE “Cranes” colorway from back in 2022. Under a year later, she composed the “Oatmeal” colorway seen here and assumed it’d never see the light of day. Now as we stare down 2025, the standout look is hitting shelves.
