JJJJound and New Balance are hoping to fill a slot in your winter rotation with another collaborative New Balance 2002R featuring GORE-TEX material. Following a release via JJJJound channels, we’re learning that a newbalance.com drop is scheduled to occur on January 7th.
It’s been said time and time again, but for better or worse, JJJJound collaborations often look like slightly upgraded general releases. That remains true here, with the Montreal design studio opting for an almost all-black design with leather overlays. In fairness, pull laces and tasteful pops of “Vintage Indigo” around the heel and cushioning capsules add a touch of uniqueness.
If these aren’t quite your thing, remember that JJJJound dropped a batch of GORE-TEX 2002Rs featuring suede back in February of 2024 (resale prices are currently hovering around MSRP). New Balance has also been rolling out general release GORE-TEX 2002Rs in recent months, many of which are still available at retailers.
As mentioned, the JJJJound x New Balance 2002R GORE-TEX “Black/Vintage Indigo” releases January 7th via newbalance.com. Keep our “Where To Buy” section below handy for purchase links on that date.
While on the topic of black sneakers, the Jordan 3 Black Cat releases January 11th in full family sizes.
