The New Balance 509 Is Ready To Compete In The $100 Price Bracket

This high-contrast black and white colorway is coming soon.

The New Balance 509 Is Ready To Compete In The $100 Price Bracket

New Balance is ready to add another model to its cost-conscious tech runner lineup. Joining the New Balance 530 and New Balance 740 in that department is the New Balance 509; shown here in crisp black and white makeup.

Reintroduced by way of a collaboration with South Korean designer Dohee Kim in October of 2024, the New Balance 509 fits alongside its sibling models with a mesh base, leather overlays, and techy metallic silver detailing (at least on this colorway). While it’s been all quiet on the 509 front since the Dohee Kim collab, it now appears we’re on the precipice of a larger global rollout. This black and white colorway is one of many styles expected for Spring/Summer 2025, and looking further ahead, there’s a CDG New Balance 509 en route for the latter half of the year. General release colorways retail for $100, which is the same MSRP as the New Balance 530 and competitors like the ASICS GEL-1130.

The New Balance 509 “Black/White” is already available in Asia, meaning a global newbalance.com release is right around the corner. See official images below and visit our Sneaker Release Dates page to browse other upcoming New Balance shoes.
