Andrew Rizzo We recently reported that BAPE, adidas, and Japanese retailer atmos are convening on a three-way adidas Superstar capsule for atmoscon in April, but that’s not the only upcoming crossover surrounding the three brands. In the more immediate future, BAPE is picking up its adidas Superstar series with two fresh styles dropping in late March.
Two key shared features stand out above the rest. For one, both styles come with debossed BAPE camo print on the sidewalls and tongue, lending an apt yet not overbearing nod to the famed Japanese streetwear brand. Second, the traditional adidas Superstar backtab is replaced by a slimmer piece of glossy patent leather.
All other defining features, namely star logo overlays, gold BAPE branding, and added lace dubraes, are all familiar qualities pulled from past projects. One colorway comes in statement-making blue and white, while the other nods to classic Superstar makeup in black and white.
BAPE and adidas haven’t announced release information yet, but as mentioned, we’re expecting a late March arrival. Additionally, both styles will be made available in full family sizes. Know that this article as well as our Sneaker Release Dates page will be kept current with all available info.
