Nike Gets Tropical With A “South Beach” Air Max Plus

A blue and orange gradient wraps the base.

Nike Gets Tropical With A “South Beach” Air Max Plus

Before he even became a designer at Nike, Sean McDowell thought of a sneaker idea that would later achieve icon status. While letting the creative juices flow on a Florida beach, McDowell took inspiration from the local beauty and sketched the first concept behind the Air Max Plus. One key quality; a gradient upper reminiscent of the picturesque South Beach shoreline.

In revisiting a feature that’s been a part of TN lore since day one, Nike is releasing a new colorway featuring tropical hues for Summer 2025. The “South Beach” Air Max Plus fades from light blue to orange up top, complemented by contrasting black treatments pretty much everywhere else. The midfoot section of the midsole mirrors the upper gradient in familiar fashion, while orange Tuned Air chambers pop within the dark sole.

The Air Max Plus “South Beach” is expected to land during the Summer 2025 shopping window, implying a release between April-June. Enjoy official images below and visit our Sneaker Release Dates page to preview more upcoming Air Max.

Speaking of which, the latest Air Max 95 “Neon” retro is expected to hit Nike SNKRS soon.
