Matt Varga Headed by Katy and Saeed Al-Rubeyi, Story MFG has always centered their vision around promoting “positivity” in fashion in every form possible: regenerative agriculture, complete reliance on vegan materials, reducing waste via durable products, and everything in between. Of course, their select forays into footwear have followed those same marching orders; last visited with their Crocs collaboration in the closing days of 2024. Luckily, there’s not much of a wait for their next steps, as the Story MFG ASICS Gel-Venture 6 collab tips off in just a few short days.
Indeed, the techy, synthetic air that usually paces the GEL-Venture 6 swaps to a fabric-heavy cozy atmosphere, perhaps best demonstrated by the opposing gingham patterns that define the two shoes (“Reddish Brown” and “Vanilla/Violet Quartz”) on offer. While it makes for arresting aesthetics, that leisurely tone is the primary narrative thread as well, said to be crafted for leisurely paces and “the quiet beauty of hobbies.” For one final distinct feature, either pair features doubling lacing systems, with official shots displaying an interwoven mix between matching gingham options and solid color alternates.
The Story MFG ASICS GEL-Venture 6 collection already kicked off via the brand’s site, but a wider worldwide release is to follow on April 18th via retail partners.
