A bloody good shoe.

Maximum Carnage: The Air Max Plus Resembles The Deadly Symbiote Pairing

Nike continues to add to the Air Max Plus onslaught in 2025 as renewed colorways continue to appear out of the Beaverton pipeline. This upcoming release leverages the “lava”-like exterior cage to help us draw connection to one of the more lovable villains in Marvel history.

Carnage, the bad guy that at one point united Spider-Man and Venom in battle, is the result of Venom’s symbiote taking over the body of fictional serial killer Cletus Kasady; this pairing resulted in the most vicious and violent symbiotic relationships between man and alien goo. First appearing in the comics in the early 1990s, Carnage grew in public popularity which led to a wide collection of merchandise and even his own titled video game (remember those red cartridges?).

The resemblance to this Air Max Plus is uncanny; although no official association exists, most of these in-line general releases in history have grown in notoriety due to these unsanctioned nicknames. Think Pandas, Hulks, and so on. If you’re a fan, find these on Nike.com soon for $180.
