For years, the Nike Air Max 90 and Air Max 95 were partners in crime, each some of the most accessible products in the Nike catalog, tacitly paired together as they filled out endless seasonal catalogs. Yet with Sergio Lozano’s design celebrating its 30th anniversary, we’re beginning to see a bit of separation between the two — at least for now. Capping off 35 years in its own right, the Air Max 90 has remained a serious factor in GR slate amid its counterpart’s foray into the hype market, again the case with a “Pale Ivory/Thunder Blue” edition on the way.
Eschewing the “Infrared” style blocking that we so often see flipped by successive AM90s, instead this pair starts off with a refined foundation of “Pale Ivory” mesh and suede, paired with a gum sole underfoot. A “Thunder Blue” mudguard and fiery red branding help bring the Fourth of July atmosphere we allude to in the title, an everlasting combination elsewhere in the catalog but delivered in blocking that feels refreshing for Tinker Hatfield’s invention.
The Nike Air Max 90 “Thunder Blue” releases as a part of Nike’s ongoing Summer/Fall 2025 efforts, checking in at $140. Check out official images below and watch our Sneaker Release Dates page for additional info in the coming weeks.
