Converse Celebratess Shai’s MVP With Murals And Billboards Across OKC And Toronto

Thunder superstar and Converse signature athlete Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added a major notch in his belt with his first-ever league MVP award, elevating him into the rarified air of the NBA’s all-time greats. At just 26 years old, SGA has one of the most elusive trophies in sports, earning the nod for leading the high-powered, mega-talented, and shockingly young OKC Thunder to an incredible 68 wins. With his Converse signature shoe set to debut later this fall, there’s a chance that “NBA Champion” could be added before then.

But before we look too far ahead, Shai is living in the moment. Converse is celebrating with him with a series of murals and billboards across Oklahoma City and his hometown of Toronto, and light projections of his logo against buildings.

This comes a day after Converse and Shai unveiled the latest SHAI 001 colorway, the “Hail Clay”; this tonal brown version is a nod to his wife Hailey Summers; the couple officially tied the knot in February of 2024 and had their first child later that year. Their son Ares is also the inspiration of the “Ares Grey” colorway, while “Charm Black” is inspired by his mother Charmaine.

The Converse Shai 001 is set to hit retail later this year; stay tuned for further updates.
