It truly is a Boots Only Summer. The global popularity of the football boot aesthetic has taken sneaker fashion by storm as the sport continues to tighten its grip on sneaker trend, even motivated bold TikTokers to rock spiked boots as casual wear.

With the emergence of the Nike Total 90 III as an “it” shoe and the Swoosh recently announcing the Nike Cryoshot series where icons like the Tiempo and Mercurial get refitted with everyday-wear bottoms, an all-out battle is brewing. adidas deserves a lot of the credit for bringing the anti-chunky movement into the fold with the Samba, but they’ve got some sport-inspired projects ready to hit market soon.

The adidas Predator Sala is a clear example of that direction; it takes the upper of the Predator Absolute and fits it with lifestyle-friendly sole design that has its own clear-cut footy vibes. Recently, the stripes released the Predator Megaride, itself taking the iconic upper and pasting it with the Megaride outsole.

Later on down the line, adidas will also launch the F50 Adiframe, which features clear bottoms outside the standard spikes — much like what Nike is doing with the Cryoshot.

This Predator Sala is set to launch soon on adidas.com and partnering retailers such as AFEW for around 139.99 €.
