Andrew Rizzo Willy Chavarria is coming off a momentous Paris Fashion Week, with the newly-minted adidas partner showcasing an absolutely colossal lineup of co-branded sneakers, apparel, and more on fashion’s most important stage. While just days removed from the Mexican-American designer’s runway takeover, we’re already starting to hear of release dates for some of the sneakers that made headlines. For our purposes, that includes two new adidas Jabbar Lo styles set to launch in July.
Throughout Chavarria’s brief yet impactful tenure with adidas, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s signature model has emerged a go-to. We’ve become acquainted with two different low-top versions thus far, one that maintains the model’s standard silhouette and a pointy, upgraded “Dress” version. One of each are slated to land July 2025, led by the more traditional Jabbar Lo in off-white/black leather. Eyes are first drawn to a new long tongue featuring a black adidas x Willy Chavarria tag, complemented by gold “Willy” text along the stripes. Moreover, in blending one silo with another, the toe features a splice of black rubber akin to the adidas Superstar’s iconic shell toe. The adidas Jabbar Dress Lo offers less to dissect by comparison, taken in off-white/blue with tan stitching for a vintage/collegiate vibe. The focus is here placed on the shoe’s altered shape, namely a thinner midsole, and pointed, slim toe box.
Both Willy Chavarria x adidas Jabbar Lo styles are on END. Clothing’s calendar for July 11th, meaning a larger release should occur on/around that date.
