Nike Adds A Ribbon Swoosh To This Shox R4 For Women

Blue Ribbon Sports branding dots the insoles.

Nike Adds A Ribbon Swoosh To This Shox R4 For Women

Nike is obsessed with its own history, and why wouldn’t it be? As the biggest and most popular sneaker brand of all time, there’s absolutely no shortage of lore and stories to be told through new releases. For Fall 2025, the Beaverton brand is highlighting its origins with a women’s Shox R4 featuring clever callbacks to the Blue Ribbon Sports days.

To the uninitiated; Blue Ribbon Sports was the name of Nike from its founding in 1964 until 1971. These Shox R4s remember that era with pink script reading “BRS” on the insoles, but there’s another, more subtle reference at play. A close-up look at the Swoosh reveals stitched “ribboning” on the border, lending a compelling feminine touch that effortlessly blends with the BRS theme. As for the rest of the sneaker, shades of “Pale Ivory” and “Light Orewood Brown” are applied to a suede/synthetic upper. Summer-friendly “Celestine Blue” comes in as the accent color, appearing on the heel, forefoot, outsole, and Shox pillars.

The women’s Nike Shox R4 “Blue Ribbon Sports” is due out Fall 2025, priced at $150. See official images below and preview more upcoming pairs on our Sneaker Release Dates page.
