The adidas Samba OG Steps Out In “Black Denim”

The adidas Samba reached its dominant position this decade via a consumer shift towards no-frills, low-key style, but you can’t fault the 1960s design for stepping out of its comfort zone every now and again. As the Three Stripes gains momentum with rugged overhauls of their core product, the adidas Samba OG “Black Denim” is next up in the cresting aesthetic.

In the broadest strokes, this mirrors the grungy attitude that the Three Stripes introduced with the adidas Superstar “Denim Pack.” However, you can make the case that the indoor soccer counterpart is the more impactful of the two in terms of color-blocking, cutting through black denim underpinnings with lighter grey counterparts on the Three Stripes, collar and heel, and mudguard. In between those dusky touches, hits of copper and gold add some statement appeal to what’s otherwise an understated edition, as does the beloved dark gum bottoms underfoot.

Expect the adidas Samba OG “Black Denim” to hit adidas.com in the coming weeks as we close out 2025. A $120 retail price is confirmed for that point.
