Nike Unveils Foamposite “Mummy Duck” Cleat For Oregon vs. Penn State Game

As Tinker Hatfield’s alma mater and a formative setting in the creation of Nike as a whole, Oregon consistently has a leg up on other NCAA Swoosh signees in terms of PE heat. Eugene made headlines for the umpteenth time earlier this year around March Madness, flexing a range of exclusive do-ups of current Nike signature silhouettes. Their other tentpole program is now getting in on the action, teeing off the Oregon Nike Foamposite One “Mummy Duck.”

This unveiling comes alongside identically titled jerseys, specifically tooled as the Ducks face their biggest challenge of the season in a matchup with #3 Penn State (a long-time Nike school that just signed a long partnership with adidas). In following the Deion Sanders “look good, play good” ethos, Nike doles out both a lifestyle Foamposite and a corresponding performance cleat, each carrying all-over off-white in the upper, bracketed by volt green soles and a black Swoosh. The real highlight of both is the glow-in-the-dark finishes, overtaking the laces and feathery stripes down the sidewalls. For the cleat in particular, the “Mummy” theme shines with exposed stitching that adds to the eerie overall atmosphere.

Importantly, the Foamposite One is already a silhouette that’s played a role in the PE-to-public history of Nike Oregon shoes. A feathered version of the silhouette came to shelves in 2013, eventually followed by additional splashes like the Jordan 5 “Oregon” or the “Ducks of a Feather” last year.

Nike has confirmed that neither the Foamposite nor the cleat will be coming to retail, exclusive to those participating in this marquee Saturday showdown. You can get an advance preview of what the Ducks will take the field wearing during their “White Out” game with official press photos included below. All that said, a “Mummy Duck” tee is available now via Nike; hit THIS LINK to grab yours.
