The Air Jordan 1 “Sail” Features Hits Of Off-White And Nike SB

Jordan Brand’s Air Jordan 1 business has evolved into a shell of its former shelf. With demand for the silhouette at an all-time low largely caused by over-saturation and lackluster offerings, the Air Jordan 1 sits at a crucial juncture as it looks to win back a fanbase that has since graduated onto different footwear trends.

2025 was a hit-or-miss year for the silhouette. The monumental “UNBANNABLE” campaign that circled around the Air Jordan 1 Hi ’85 started things at a high point, but the slow descent begin immediately after due to a lack of good product. The “Shattered Backboard”, despite being heralded as one of the greatest Retro colorways ever made, held its value because it marked an important time in the Air Jordan 1 legacy. Bringing it back a mere decade later was just a money grab, and a weak one at that.

Future Air Jordan 1 products for 2025 have received lukewarm-at-best reactions. The upcoming women’s “Pro Green” brings in an elegant colorway to the mix this November, but nothing out of the ordinary. This December, a Sail/University Red pair will enter the mix bearing some unconventional detailing such as the oversized “Flight” text on the bottoms, the elephant print on the Swoosh, and a miniature Jumpman logo at the toe reminiscent of Eric Koston’s Nike SB Air Jordan 1 Low collaborations.

Despite the attempts to dress up the Air Jordan 1 a bit differently, we don’t expect a big reaction to the drop and the shoes will very likely be a post-release date pick-up for under MSRP. Nevertheless, here’s a first look below; we have these marked for December in our Jordan Release Dates calendar.
