For many reasons, Halloween is a date Ja Morant has circled on his calendar. Not only is it the Grizzlies’ first game of the NBA Cup, but it’ll also be their first matchup of the season against LeBron and the Los Angeles Lakers. We can rest assured Ja will be motivated to play his best — and when he’s locked in, he’s a scary sight to say the least. We also know what sneakers he’ll lace up for the occasion: the Nike Ja 3 “Spooky Season,” shown here via official images.
Colloquially dubbed the “Zombie” or simply Ja 3 “Halloween” thus far, the sneaker features a gooey green upper composed of a tie-dye mesh base and “Light Lemon Twist” detailing, with the latter color continuing down onto the outsole. Two details are worthy of special attention — the first being a set of custom insoles featuring zombie graphics. The second is a lace dubrae designed to look like fangs that spell out Ja’s last name. The lateral Swoosh comes in black with a “Bright Crimson” border, while the medial Swoosh appears in “Hemp” brown to match the laces. As for what you can’t see, the upper detailing and midsole both glow in the dark.
The Ja 3 “Spooky Season” is part of a collection of Halloween Nike Basketball shoes alongside pairs by Devin Booker, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and of course, the Slim Reaper Kevin Durant. The entire collection drops October 21st via Nike and select retailers, with the Ja 3 retailing for $140. See official images below if you’re considering copping.
