Matt Varga Salomon is now a mainstay in the sneakerhead space, and to their credit, they’ve largely done so without celebrity endorsements. Arguably, their foremost sponsee is FEID, a natural link-up given the already-existing appreciation that the Colombian multi-hyphenate had for the trail running company. After a long cycle of teasers and previews, their first official collaboration is almost at hand, as the FEID x Salomon XT-Pathway 2 FERXXO is set to drop at the end of October.
Already utilizing slime green aesthetics during his on-stage productions, it’s thus no surprise that FEID utilizes the same for his debut, comprehensively coating the shoe with a slight black interruption in the sole unit. Even if the base composition of the sneaker stays relatively consistent with inline applications, there are plenty of spots where FEID’s personality shines through. A hand-drawn caricature on the tongue is one, but an arrangement of charms might be the most notable, ushering Salomon into the trendy customizable space for the first time with the astrological pieces depicted toward the toe in these official images. Derived from the greenery of his hometown, Medellín, that signature viridescent tone makes one final appearance in the glow-in-the-dark aspects that flash as a closing detail on this shoe.
