A glamorous reinvention.

Over 5,000 Crystals Cover The Swarovski x Puma Speedcat

Much ink — especially on our part — has been spilled about the rising streetwear-meets-fashion moment. Many of the stories that’ve broken containment in that regard have come when brands have refitted their core product into glitzier variations on their own accord: the New Balance 1906L, the Jordan Mule Loafer, plenty more. However, footwear brands at large are largely in agreement on who to turn to when it comes to issuing genuine luxury makeovers of their kicks.

Of course, Swarovski is that brand, already called upon by everyone from Crocs to Converse. PUMA isn’t a stranger to the crystal conglomerate, having pulled together a Swarovski PUMA Suede already, but this easily makes for the splashiest moment in their shared history. Seen on city streets and in A-list campaigns with Dua Lipa and Rosé, the PUMA Speedcat is no doubt the Big Cat’s trendiest model. Pinning designer touches on that canvas is clearly aimed at creating a genuinely coveted piece of footwear. With 5,300 distinct gems affixed to this shoe’s profile, on paper, it has everything it needs to accomplish that.

The Swarovski x PUMA Speedcat releases on October 24th via Swarovski online and in-store, retailing for $680.
