Joe Freshgoods To Release New Balance 2010 “Hand-Me-Downs” And “Bag Lady” At NYC Rec Center Pop-Up

Updated November 14th, 2025 Joe Freshgoods will be dropping both pairs at the NYC Rec Center pop-up located on 293 Grand St. in the LES/Chinatown area. EQL raffles for both pairs of the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance Abzorb 2010 are available now HERE.

Joe Freshgoods has now officially revealed his New Balance 2010 “Hand-Me-Downs” and “Bag Lady.” The latter is the white/off-white pair that’s been floated around for a few months, now bolstered with a darker counterpart with the same distressed panelling. Either shoe gets an extra cozy aspect with furry laces in contrast coloring. True to earlier images, detachable chains with “JFG” attachements add a layer of customization, and a new JFG logo sits on the insoles.

Release information is unknown at this point, but this official in-hand reveal marks the beginning of a rollout that could earnestly kick off at ComplexCon.

When you issue a sequel to arguably the most coveted New Balance collaboration this decade, it’s hard to call your year “quiet” by any stretch of the imagination. However, to date, most haven’t been able to get their hands on the usually prolific slate of Joe Freshgoods New Balance releases, so far taking a step back from a 2024 that saw four shoes hit the masses and a 2023 that nearly doubled that figure.

Following a Paris-only drop of the Joe Freshgoods New Balance 2000, the ramp-up effort for his next pair appears to be underway. Promising on Twitter that for “the rest of the year [he’s] going crazy,” the Chicago multi-hyphenate brings his talent to the “other” ABZORB silhouette, also a rather fresh addition to the catalog.

While going off officially shared shots means that much of this shoe is obscured—only revealing distressed, grungy overalls and a faux-vintage sole unit—some early sources could reveal what’s in store. Already, this arrangement appeared in the designer’s “Aged Well” promo, located directly behind the designer alongside what looks to be two alternate versions of the same model. Later leaks revealed side profiles of what could either be this final version or a “beta test” sample, replete with metal chain hangtags and off-white mesh foundations.

Also via his social media presence, Joe Freshgoods has already confirmed some sort of on-site festivities for ComplexCon, confirming he’ll link up with Patta in some form or fashion but opting to hold further details until closer to the event. In similar fashion, launch info for this shoe is few and far between, but it’s a prime candidate for a feature at the Vegas showcase.
