Jewel Swooshes And “Soft Pearl” Hues Make For A Glimmering Nike Dunk Low

After months of wondering aloud when we’d see the Swoosh trim their stock of “staple models,” we finally got confirmation that the program was underway in the latest Nike earnings call. Even if the Dunk, Air Jordan 1, and Air Force 1 now occupy less total territory in the Swoosh empire, barring an out-and-out retirement, you’ll never be able to unseat any of those three as totemic pieces of their strategy.

Less stock is just one piece of the strategy in reducing the overall malaise with which the general consumer approaches those silhouettes. On an aesthetic level, we’ve seen plenty of times before how the right creative approach can alight individual colorways, and the Nike Dunk Low “Soft Pearl” has that in spades.

At first glance, the off-white body and navy trim this shoe rides in on belie the finer details that help it far elevate that status. Iridescent tonality coats the overlays and cut-through Jewel Swoosh, those leather sections carry a scaly geometric finish, and the collars and laces unite in furry materiality. All of that results in an attention-stealing profile, far from the “blend-in” air that the Dunk can carry in its more simplistic editions.

The Nike Dunk Low Jewel “Soft Pearl” has already landed via Nike JP, with a US drop likely to follow. Be ready for a $135 MSRP once that comes to pass. Watch our Sneaker Release Dates hub to ensure you don’t miss out once this pair comes around.
