Andrew Rizzo Like most sneaker brands, New Balance’s roster of collaborative partners runs deep. On one hand, you have names like Joe Freshgoods, Salehe Bembury, and Action Bronson, who jointly ensure the flashier “street” genre is well covered. The other side of the coin consists of names whose influence is more minimal: JJJJound, Comme des Garçons, and for our purposes — AURALEE, which made its strongest impression with two New Balance 990v4 styles last year.
Following a New Balance 475 collab that largely flew under the radar, AURALEE is back with a project on one of New Balance’s most underrated models: the T500. The collaboration was first unveiled at Paris Fashion Week in January and is finally set to hit shelves. Two colorways are on the way: a “Vintage Brown” featuring mesh, suede, and leather, and a “Vintage Ivory” featuring an all-leather build.
The New Balance T500 debuted in the 1980s as a tennis sneaker and has found new life in the 2020s largely thanks to Aimé Leon Dore, which began releasing collabs on the model in 2023. General release pairs retail for just $110 and offer impressive quality for that price point, particularly on all-suede builds. Given that collabs typically feature even more premium materials, we’re betting AURALEE’s duo will be even better.
