Action Bronson Debuts His New Balance 1890 On Thanksgiving

Updated November 27th, 2025: Action Bronson officially revealed a first look at his next silhouette with New Balance. The 1890, which is poised for a big comeback in 2026, will begin its rollout with the help of the Baklava initiative.

New Balance 1890 Action Bronson 1

Action Bronson isn’t slowing down one bit. The NYC multi-hyphenate just delivered what he, humbly, described as the sneaker of the year with his New Balance 992 duo, yet we’re already looking ahead to what he has in store for 2026. The Action Bronson x New Balance 1890 is the shoe in question—a fresh “tech runner” from the Boston brand bearing the artist’s typical multicolor approach.

Rounded overlays are the first thing the eye gravitates toward on this new silhouette, giving way to open-knit mesh below. Full-length ABZORB with squared pods underfoot makes up the cushioning platform, while the visuals are bolstered by a triangular heel counter at the rear. Though always attention-grabbing, the color choices on this shoe stick to the eccentric script we’ve come to expect from Action Bronson New Balance output: cooler shades in neon green midsoles and royal blue “N” branding come into conflict with orange hits on the top eye stay and the aforementioned rear section. Perhaps more surprising is the focus on neutrality, as off-white shades and dark greys dominate the real estate. Similar boot laces to the ones that dotted his New Balance 990v6 earlier in 2025, and the typical “BAKLAVA New Balance” branding on the tongue, close out the arrangement.

While getting an early preview of Bronson’s next steps is coverage-worthy in its own right, this is also a look at the Boston brand’s next entrant into the “dad shoe” space. Looks at upcoming general-release colorways have been circling around the internet for some months, including a yellow/black and a navy/yellow/red pair with speckled detailing, either one expected to drop come spring 2026.

Much the same as seen on the Action Bronson x New Balance 1890, the teardrop no-sew overlays and full-length ABZORB cushioning remain draws of the base model. As a final note, this also confirms that the New Balance 1890 Loafer spotted earlier this year will be a hybrid or offshoot of this “default” composition, as the platform on that formalwear re-do is identical despite heavy divergence in the upper construction.

Again, the Action Bronson x New Balance 1890 will become more concrete as we turn the page into 2026. Catch early in-hand looks below, and keep our Sneaker Release Dates page within reach for more on this pair and everything included regarding the fresh silhouette.
