Matt Varga If you chalked up adidas’ Climacool efforts as the Three Stripes riding a wave or simply checking a box, we’re sorry to inform you that you were dead wrong. Jump back to the recent preview of the product line that the German giant let loose overseas for proof; further iterations on the 3D-printed tech are coming fast and furious for 2026 and beyond, taking the one-piece construction of the Climacool proper into far-flung, disparate directions.
However, adi devotees won’t need to wait until next year to expand those horizons. Without much fanfare, the adidas Purechill Runner has appeared on the adidas website. Up top, we will note that the 3D-printed synthetics that define the parent Climacool are absent in this iteration, instead opting for comprehensive EVA foam construction. Still, the echoes of that counterpart are evident from the jump, purely in the shape of the silhouette, if nothing else. Further distinguishing this cost-considered takedown are four rows of slits on the medial side for additional breathability and a rubber traction patch underfoot.
