Stranger Things x Nike Air Max 1 Releases On December 4th

The new Stranger Things x Nike collection is shaping up to be one of the most important drops of December 2025, serving as a culmination of both Netflix’s hit series and one of the most memorable streaming-and-sneaker partnerships of the modern era. After dipping their toe in the water with a Stranger Things Dunk earlier this month, the two parties are set to unleash a more complete collection on December 4th, consisting of two Converse models and three from the Swoosh

When Nike learned that Stranger Things season five would be set in the fall of 1987, the Air Max 1 was likely the first model that came to mind. Every shoe in the partnership has been one that could realistically have existed within the show’s time period, and season five is no exception, with the Air Max 1 originally taking to shelves in 1987.

The sneaker is worn by Steve Harrington (played by Joe Keery) in the show and loosely mirrors the model’s original “Sport Red” colorway, swapping in a darker maroon shade on the Swoosh and mudguard. Nike returns to the “upside down” with flipped branding on the tongue and heel, while co-branded insoles incorporate a pattern inspired by the underworld’s eerie vines. Special vintage-style packaging is included with the shoes, along with four collectible pins tied to the series.

Stranger Things season five begins with four episodes on November 26th, three more on December 25th, and the final episode on December 31st. The Stranger Things x Nike/Converse collection releases December 4th via Nike SNKRS. Budget for a $180 MSRP if you’re going after the Air Max 1s.
