Willy Chavarria’s star is only rising with the Three Stripes. The nascent partnership, first debuted on the runway, is already off to a splashy start, primarily focusing on bringing the multi-hyphenate’s touch to the Three Stripes’ archival roster.
The relationship began with the adidas Jabbar Lo, a spotlighted product within adi’s mainline and one where the cross-category appeal that Chavarria offers was on full display. Remodeled to bear a pointed dress toe, that same build makes a repeat appearance for this SS26 collection, only this time the color options spread far beyond the simplistic fare audiences first saw. Indeed, there are four colorways of the Willy Chavarria Jabbar on tap this time around.
Three drill down on the stealthy aesthetics you might expect from his high fashion background: in a classic Three Stripes look of black/off-white, in a statement application where premium leather meets hairy cheetah print, and a nocturnal pair where metallic gold branding on a fold-over tongue breaks up the otherwise monochromatic layout. An off-white inversion of that lattermost pair rounds out the Jabbar section, allowing contrasting “WILLY” and “KAREEM” branding to take center stage.
Up next is one that our dedicated readership may recognize, the Willy Chavarria Forum High. As we’ve detailed in our previous coverage, the designer remodels the paneling in the back half of the shoe, additionally leveling out the strap as opposed to mainline editions. More statement spellout text dots this pair, from an all-lowercase execution on the strap to a gilded signature across the new heel counter.
Finally, Willy and the Three Stripes ensure that harsher climate wear is represented despite the S/S subhead, as the Chavarria Forum Boot makes its debut. A lugged outsole, premium leathers, and lugged traction platforms tack onto the Forum composition that audiences should be familiar with, resulting in an industrial take on the model in two all-black High and Lo pairs.
