If the overwhelming success of soccer aesthetics didn’t already make it so, the World Cup is already pushing brands’ product in that vertical onto center stage. Street soccer in particular is something that Beaverton has elevated over the past year or so, once again the case at the TOMA El Juego tournament that featured a special guest: the one and only Travis Scott.
As always, his footwear becomes a headline, sparking a cycle of speculation as he took the festivities with an unreleased Nike Soccer design. Though moody in-person images make the details a bit tough to parse overall, clearly this is an indoor version of the company’s premier performance line, bearing the alternating lateral Swooshes and diagonal lace unit from a silhouette like the Phantom 6 Elite. A revamped sole unit a la the Total 90 III SP alters it for indoor or lifestyle use, while a dazzling “Reverse Swoosh” may mark this as a Scott joint.
To that point, it’s possible that Scott’s star power will help spotlight upcoming product again. Certainly, La Flame’s name in the indoor arena would help bolster an essential vertical for the Swoosh. However, we’d be remiss not to mention that it’s been nearly two years since a Nike product has worn his design touch, as 2023’s pair of Mac Attacks currently stands as the last non-signature Travis Scott shoes.
As further info on this shoe surfaces, we’ll keep our coverage updated. In the meantime, check out some hero shots of the Houston multi-hyphenate below.
