While peers like the Air Max 95 and Air Max 1000 may have recieved more top-level shine this year, the Nike Air Max Plus remains metronome-like, chugging along as an ever-popular lifestyle choice. Link-ups like the Doernbecher Air Max Plus or One Piece Air Max Plus promise to elevate the silhouette in 2026, but expect the same slate of standout general releases we’ve seen from the silhouette for the past decade as well.

The Nike Air Max PLus “Black/University Gold/University Red” is already set up to be a part of that mix, bucking the usual tropical hallmarks we expect from the AMP. Instead, an all-black foundation dovetails into a creative use of the gradient aesthetics the Tn has utilized for a generation, as fiery red-to-yellow defines the TPU waves and creates a split outsole shank to pair.
