All things considered, the New Balance 2000 has been a success in its 2025 debut. It may not boast the cachet of collaborations that a shoe like the New Balance 2010, but the in-house design and color team has done an admirable job of stamping the futuristic extension of the NB catalog all the same.

With several natural spins on the original “Baby Blue” in the books, the ABZORB-powered model has started to get radical with its colorways, understandable for a shoe entering Year 2. Pinned by the brand alongside the New Balance 2000 “Cortado,” the New Balance 2000 “Wakame” pairs up with that predecessor by contrasting earthy uppers and overtones with hi-vis tonality, highlighting its underfoot cushioning with neon “Afterglow” green in this case.
