Nike Air Max 90 “Infrared” Returns With Reflective Uppers

A flashy spin on the OG.

Nike Air Max 90 “Infrared” Returns With Reflective Uppers

Sport Red Air Max 1s, Neon Air Max 95s, and Infrared Air Max 90s. The original colorway of Tinker Hatfield’s Air Max 90 is unquestionably one of the best and most widely recognizable sneakers in the entire Air Max legacy, often pulled back for retros and historically used as a jumping off point for myriad offshoot releases.

We’re pleased to report that the Air Max 90 “Infrared” is indeed coming back in 2026… sort of. The base is made from reflective white leather as opposed to mesh, and the quarter opts for a different, hairier type of grey suede. Air Max purists might channel Don Corleone with a “look at how they massacred my boy” sort of response to these, and that’s probably fair criticism. Nike has released several different “Infrared” Air Max 90 styles throughout its history, some decent, most forgettable. Readers might recall the GORE-TEX style Nike dropped in early 2024, which rather unceremoniously sat on shelves for multiple seasons. The last true “Infrared” retro arrived in 2020, coinciding with the Air Max 90’s new OG-inspired “recrafted” silhouette in honor of its 30th anniversary.

The reflective Nike Air Max 90 “Infrared” releases in Asia on January 15th and is expected to land stateside at a later date. See official images below and visit our Sneaker Release Dates page to browse more upcoming Nikes.
