Unheardof’s adidas Adistar Control 5 Piggy Runners Are Limited To 2,500 Pairs Each

Updated March 20th, 2026: Unheardof has shared release details for its adidas Adistar Control 5 “Piggy Runner 2.0” collection. The project draws inspiration from founder Phillip Lipschutz’s childhood friend group – nicknamed Cupcake, Cheeseburger, and Steve-O (not that Steve-O) – with each member tied to one of three colorways: green for Cupcake, yellow for Cheeseburger, and red for Steve-O. Each colorway is limited to just 2,500 units and will release exclusively via Unheardof on March 28th, both in-store and online at unheardofbrand.com at 11:00 AM ET. Retail is set at $185 per.

Unheardof’s Philip Lipschutz struck gold with his adidas Adistar Cushion 3 “Piggy Runner” last year – a sneaker-of-the-year contender in some circles that did well to spotlight adidas’ renewed focus on the Adistar line. More “Piggy Runners” are on the way for 2026, this time branching out to new colorways and a different Adistar model.

Lipschutz has now shared a total of three potential “Piggy Runners” that could land down the line, all built on the resurgent adidas Adistar Control 5 silhouette. The first was teased during Paris Fashion Week in January – a green colorway featuring pink stripes. Now the setting shifts from Paris to adidas’ North American headquarters in Portland, where the Unheardof founder previewed two additional styles. One arrives in a salmon pink, while the other takes on a bright yellow finish. Both feature piggy graphics on the tongue and heel as well as multi-color outsoles.

Given the timing and the shoes’ resemblance to dyed eggs, there could be some Easter significance in play here. Lipschutz has hinted at a March 28th release at Unheardof, though which of the three previewed styles will be included remains unclear. See detailed images below and stay tuned for more updates.
