Sneaker News Pharrell’s adidas VIRGINIA Jellyfish is about to get considerably louder. Sneaker News brings you the first detailed look at an upcoming red colorway of the adidas Jellyfish, photographed first-hand and revealed here for the first time.
We first previewed the upcoming release as part of our deep dive into the footwear models of Pharrell’s VIRGINIA, but we can all agree that these deserve a closer look.
Red dominates nearly the entire shoe, with two different shades creating some separation across the Jellyfish’s already exaggerated construction. A brighter standard red covers the overlays and the toe-cap, while the darker Team Victory Red adds depth on the midsole and base layer. Black Three Stripes cut through all that red, while grey appears across the Jellyfish’s signature exploding “tentacles,” helping emphasize the dimensional design that has made Pharrell’s $300 sneaker such a standout within the current footwear landscape.
The Jellyfish has become the centerpiece of Pharrell’s broader VIRGINIA project, built around the maximalist proportions of the archival adidas Adistar Cushion. Most of the initial colorways have leaned into the archival Adistar colors, but beginning this Fall and Winter, adidas Originals wants to get louder as we’ll see far more character with the choice of colors.
