Matt Varga Updated September 8th, 2026: Sneaker Politics has now officially unveiled their polka dot Handball Spezial, carrying a multicolor arrangement of black, white, blue, and red.
Though the Louisiana-based imprint plays coy in their explanatory copy, this collab pays homage to blues legend Buddy Guy. As he left his Louisiana hometown for Chicago, the city that would eventually make him famous, he promised his mother to return in a polka dot Cadillac. Though that promise eventually went unfulfilled, his love and penchant for the pattern was well-represented in his outfits, guitars, and throughout his career overall.
The Sneaker Politics x adidas Handball Spezial drops on September 12th via the Politics site, retailing for $110.

Sneaker Politics is always heavily involved in the collab space, but 2026 has put their sturdy rolodex on full display. They’ve brought their handiwork to the ANTA KAI 3, Saucony Progrid Omni 9, PUMA H-Street, and Reebok Workout Plus already this year; not to mention a few notable early launches that’ve demonstrated their multi-city retail presence. It’s been the Three Stripes who have been most heavily involved in their 20th anniversary celebration, again the case with the Sneaker Politics x adidas Handball Spezial.
The German giant already owns three link-ups with the Louisiana-based imprint in the past year, between the adidas Adistar Harmony, Goukana, and the LA Trainer. For their fourth collab in that period, it’s the timeless adidas Handball Spezial in focus. A teaser image showcases the terrace icon outfitted in two inverse polka dot layouts, with white-on-black coating the topmost overlays at the toe and eye-stays, before its reverse takes over at the base layer.
Beyond this initial angle, info is very limited on the Sneaker Politics x adidas Handball Spezial. Expect a full official announcement in short order, however.
