Y-3’s Beast Pack Returns As adidas Football Cleats

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of its original release, Y-3 and adidas uncaged the “Beast Pack” once more, retrofitted for the “#bootsonlysummer” movement with a new indoor soccer platform. Adapting menacing wolves, tigers, eagles and dragons (oh my) onto performance wear offered the flair that’s so sought out on the pitch, yet with the left-field character expected from any Yohji Yamamoto product.

Reversing course from that lifestyle adaptation, the Y-3 adidas “Beast Pack” is back as an earnest performance effort. The set of four expressive colorways has now been applied to the adiZero Electric+ 11, a modern offering replete with Primeknit uppers and a multi-surface package underfoot. If you’ve seen any of the “Beast Pack” pairs before, the actual colorways here shouldn’t surprise you; the ferocious fauna remain in place, lending their physiology comprehensively to each shoe’s top half.
