Andrew Rizzo Watcha got there, Skateboard P? Pharrell Williams recently popped out wearing a new, unreleased adidas model thought to be the sequel to his popular adidas Jellyfish, sporting a similarly blown-up design language but with far different tooling.
The teaser comes on the heels of an absolutely massive summer on the Pharrell x adidas front, the LV creative head rolling out several colorways of the Flat Earther, Water Moc, and Jellyfish over the past few months alone. This new model made its first cameo back in March when Pharrell wore a white and black pair to a Louis Vuitton show in Paris. Detailed paparazzi images now afford us a closer look at a new white, green, and grey colorway.
The supposed sequel shoe is far more pared-back by comparison, though you could say the same about damn near anything given the Jellyfish’s many eccentricities. The midsole and overall build remain exceptionally wide, while the sides, rife with elaborate TPU detailing on the OG Jellyfish, appear to take a more streamlined approach. There might be a comparison to be made to one of adidas’ retro runners a la Jellyfish and Adistar Cushion 3, though we’ll need more detailed images to confirm any sort of association.
The timing might seem early given the Jellyfish released just over a year ago, but the teaser to public release window can often be a lengthy one. Worth noting too that while the first few Jellyfish drops garnered plenty of hype and vanished quickly from shelves, the past few have sat around for a while, so a sequel might be just the thing to keep sentiment high.
