The adidas F50 Formotion Appears In Refined “Maroon”

Why should SP5DER have all the fun? In a playbook we see plenty around the industry, adidas leveraged one of its starrier partners to introduce the Formotion F50 this summer, debuting in a chrome-coated colorway that highlighted the blend between Y2K aesthetics and visible tech hardware that the model continued to offer up through its later explorations. The era of the Formotion F50 as a general release product is now firmly upon us, and this “Maroon” colorway shows off what could be in store as that chapter marches ahead.

Again, much of what we’ve seen from the F50 Formotion to date has played into a boisterous side of things, carrying shimmering details and can’t-miss tonality. This “Maroon” edition cuts the exact opposite way, pairing a darkened top half with off-white tinting its molded midsole unit, certainly a departure for the “vis tech” category, let alone this model specifically. The sharp Three Stripes branding on the heel and overall futuristic hardware that the Formotion has built on in its journey so far remain, creating some intriguing visual contrast that could pave the way for future colorway options.
