Given BTS rapper j-hope’s star power alone, the Nigo x j-hope x Nike Air Force 1 ‘01 is poised to become one of the most sought-after sneakers of the year. The project lives on the Air Force 1 ‘01 silhouette, the subject of an ongoing “World Tour” featuring collabs by Nigo and other important figures within his inner circle. Nigo’s close ties to the early 2000s via the Bape Sta, essentially an Air Force 1 dupe, make the series a logical one. Nigo and Jun Takahashi kicked off the retro cut’s run with their “Last Orgy 2” collab earlier this year, a bona fide SOTY candidate, while Nigo’s close creative compadre Steven Victor is in the midst of an extensive six colorway collection.

The Nigo x j-hope x Nike Air Force 1 ‘01 features a glossy Burnt Sunrise and Metallic Gold leather upper, Chlorine Blue accents, and stitched squirrel graphics on the lateral side of the heel. Three-way co-branding lands on the tongue, backtab, and insoles, while woven multicolor laces add another layer.
