Andrew Rizzo Nike’s latest Air Max 90 features almost the exact same palette as the model’s iconic “Infrared” colorway, only with radically different placements. The “Infrared Flip,” as we’re calling it, mashes up Tinker Hatfield’s original vision with a complete color overhaul that produces some striking contrast, available now via the Nike website.
Black and white play even bigger roles than usual, the former doing a whole lot of heavy lifting on the mesh upper, tongue, leather Swooshes, and the entire midsole, wedge included. The quarter and mudguard are both cut from white leather, while the mudguard window and lower eyestay are done in Light Smoke Grey. Bright Crimson (yes, not technically Infrared) fills things out on the laces and the entirety of the heel badge, including the Nike Air branding.
