The Air Jordan 7 might’ve popularized a “Cardinal Red/Bronze” color combination, but it hasn’t been the only silhouette under the NIKE, Inc. banner to don it (and don it well). Ahead of 2022, an Air Jordan 1 Low for kids has surfaced in a similar color palette, though the ruby color appears much more prominently on the aforementioned 1992-design.
The synthetic leather base that appears on the upcoming kid’s sneaker indulges in a “colorless” makeup that allows for overlays across the upper to revel in the spotlight. Panels around the forefoot, along the tongue and throughout the heel deviate from the simplicity of the all-white base in favor of the titular “Cardinal Red”-reminiscent tone; lining on the tongue and outsoles underfoot also participate in the rich red composition. Yellowish flair appears via the profile swooshes’ stitching, as well as through the “Wings” insignias on the spine. Lastly, Jumpman logos on the low-top Jordan 1‘s tongue deliver one last nod to the colorway fans have come to call simply “Cardinal.”
Enjoy official images of the retro here below, and anticipate a Nike.com release in the first-half of the new year.
