If the frequent uptick in releases signals anything, it’s that this winter will be dominated by the New Balance 9060. Consistently employing titular-hued propositions in stark contrast to the gloomy fall weather – alongside a collaborative effort with Bodega – the 99X Series-inspired silhouette is now set to sport a dominant “Truffle” ensemble.
Aesthetically driven to match the neutral-toned outfits of the oncoming climate, the heel’s pigskin suede overlays work in tandem with the dark grey shading of its forefoot mesh base, rendering a steely grey color-match across its “N” logo and front half of the midsole. A majority of the pairs real estate, however, indulges in a deep burgundy which flips the latter portion of the silhouettes color blocking, extending the shade across its overlays upfront and the heel collar’s mesh paneling. Lightening the color just a touch for its laces and tongue construction – affixed with the original 991 lace jewel – seldom chocolate browns work their way into the mix through the heel tab and connecting panel of the forefoot.
Disparately choosing an olive green to line the trim of the midfoot insignia and the heel’s midsole, the wavy ABSORB-infused cushioning unit underfoot enjoys a lasting inclusion from the greyscale palette whereas its translucent CR device and tread underfoot conclude with the mainstays “Truffle”.
