Plush gradients have reinvigorated the Nike Air Max Plus following the silhouette’s 25th-anniversary last year. While the transition of shades has recently been attributed to the model’s unique TPU overlays, recently the Sean McDowell design underwent an oceanic wave of “University Blue”.
Shifting away from dark navy hues at the pair’s mesh base, a Tarheel-friendly light blue envelops the vamp and surrounding tongue construction while the glossy rubber mudguard and full-length leather overlay come illuminated in the latter. Further harkening the sky-associated ensemble, a contrasting entry of crisp white overtakes the laces, quarter trim and nylon sock liner before outfitting the Tuned Air midsole underfoot. Attributing a lasting gradient along its enlarged midfoot shank, a jet-black tread comes finished with ever so light blue accents.
While we await release date information for the pair, enjoy official images of the Nike Air Max Plus “University Blue Gradient” below in the meantime.
In other news from the Beaverton-based brand, the Air Jordan 1 Low undergoes a “Mocha” treatment.
