Michael Le As avant garde as his fashions may be, Rick Owens is certainly no stranger to the world of sneakers. Alongside producing footwear of his own — the extremely popular Ramones, for example — the designer previously collaborated with the Three Stripes, crafting everything from the Tech Runner to the Mastadon. Currently, the Lord of Darkness is sharing his expertise with none other than Converse, who have allowed him to reimagine the Chuck 70 several times over.
Following quite a few months since their last joint effort, Rick Owens and Converse are once again setting their sights on the Chuck 70. This time, however, they’re quite literally elevating its design, pairing a platform sole with many of the same details found on the eponymous label’s past encounters with the silhouette. Complete with DRKSHDW branding along the heel and below the woven label stitched onto the elongated tongue, the aptly-named DBL DRKSTAR will soon be available in two understated styles: “Black” and “Natural Ivory.”
