It’s official: The Tokyo Olympics 2020 have been postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis. While the news surely derailed dozens of plans related to the global competition, adidas is among a handful of brands that seem poised to remain on course, as the German sportswear behemoth is gradually unveiling Olympics-inspired products. The latest comes in the form of a ZX Torsion.
At a glance, the newest option of the Boost-cushioned, Torsion-stabilized model isn’t too dissimilar from others in the ZX line. Akin to a recent ZX 8000 co-created by adidas Skateboarding and Metropolitan, mixed synthetic and textile uppers are clad in black. White stitching on the ZX Torsion, however, interrupt the tonal scheme à la Yeezy 350 v2 Oreo. Lateral 3-Stripes divvy up green, yellow and blue trims – details that also adorn the heel. “TORSION” branded lace dubraes and tooling across both the midsole and outsole slightly partake in the Olympic symbols-palette, but pale in their nod to the event when compared to the torch graphic on the tongue label.
Grab a closer look at this multi-colored ZX Torsion here below while you wait for pairs to arrive on adidas.com in the coming months.
