Japanese sneaker staple Mita has a heralded history of great sneaker collaborations with Nike, New Balance, Reebok, and others. Asics can also be added to that list, but this definitely isn’t Mita’s first go with them let alone the Gel Lyte III. Arriving in October 2010 is a Mita x Asics Gel Lyte III with an all-black luxurious upper combining leather and nylon. The insole features a special cheetah-print like graphic with Far East Tokyo Ueno printed inside. A minor contrast to the colorways of the last Mita x Asics Gel Lyte III titled the Kirimomi Project, which featured blue and purple trims with use of patent leather.
