Perhaps the single best thing about the Star Wars x adidas Originals ongoing collaboration is that the designs have reached a point where they refer to the Saga’s characters and symbols as if they were another interchangeable part of the athlete-driven sneakerhead scene, a move that makes the shoes all the more approachable from even the least sci-fi inclined. And it turns out that even unofficial nods to George Lucas’ masterwork are going to result in sneaker gold these days, this new Nike SB Dunk High inspired by the Hoth-inhabiting Tauntaun monster among the coolest looking kicks all year. Take that figuratively or literally, as either applies to the frosty blue and grey blend whose subtle use of corduroy atop the marbled suede base layer is arguably the ‘chillest’ look from Swoosh skateboarding all year.
