The ‘Safari’, ‘Viotech’, ‘Elephant Print’, and ‘Wild Beast’ designs of the Air Max 1 are regarded as some of the best Air Max 1s of all-time, so the sudden news of two upcoming AM1 collabs by atmos was certain cause for celebration. News of the atmos x Air Max 1 for 2013 did catch us by surprise, considering Nike collaborations have been a rare occurrence (and the last Air Max 1 collaboration, which came in 2010, was deemed the best sneaker of the year). Here we have a look at a sublime mix of tiger camouflage and a black python snake-skin upper – one of two compositions expected to release this January; atmos, once again, displays its affinity for premium materials with distinct textures/graphics, but whether or not these live up to the atmos standard is still up for debate.
